Eternal Gratitude

“Why does God send us here, where things hurt so much? Why does he make us love things that he knows we’re going to lose? […] We don’t love people because we will have them forever; we love them because loving them changes us, makes us better, healthier, kinder, realer.  Loving people makes us stronger in the right ways and weaker in the right ways.  Even if people leave, even if they die, they leave us better.  So we keep loving, even though we might lose, because loving teaches us and changes us.  And that’s what we’re here to do.  God sends us here to learn how to be better lovers, and to learn how to be loved, so we’ll be prepared for heaven.” ~Glennon Doyle Melton

You have changed so many people, Mama.  You have shaped us all into better lovers of life, and for that we are eternally grateful.  Rest now.  Rest.

  1. Dearest Jaime,
Words don’t work at a time such as this. With tears I send my love and will be praying for you as you go through this time with an aching heart and unimaginable grief. Hugs to you and your family.
    Love,

  2. Your mother was an amazing lady with a special gift of always making those around her feel welcomed. How blessed you have been to have such a fun and loving mom. She will be dearly missed! Until we meet again Aunt Jonie.

  3. I remember meeting your mom at Alpine Pool 2 years ago. I could see you had a good relationship with her and I also saw how much she loved your girls and they her. I know your pain is deep as I have been there before. Thinking of you and your family.

  4. Jaime. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My heart aches for you and your family. I pray for peace and understanding and that you will be comforted by your faith and surrounded by loving family support. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

  5. Jaime, your mom is one in a million. Always so sweet and kind. She will live on in you, Megan and your girls. We are all so sad to see her go. We have such an empty feeling inside. Please, God, give us the strength to carry on. Love you.

  6. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Know that your Mom was deeply loved for her gentle spirit and loving heart. We will miss her so very much but our memories are many to comfort such sadness. She has raised you and Meggie to be such lovely girls and I know you will carry on with her love in your heart. I feel so honored to call her my friend for over thirty years and so grateful she was in my life to love, to be by my side thru our trials and to laugh at ourselves and all the fun times we had. The Manas family sends you all our love and sympathies. 💛💛💛
